Updated: May 7

Hi, I'm Elizabeth! I'm the founder and CEO of The Jacksonville Baby Company. You can read more about me here. Me and my team here at The JBC help parents stay sane! Whatever that means. After parents give birth their lives are turned upside down, the first baby in different ways than their second baby. They're often faced with having to readjust their priorities and focus less on self-care and healing or else their careers, self-image, and relationships suffer. Now, I'm not shaking my finger saying "It's all your fault, parents," absolutely not! I know in our society this is where we are. We have demanding careers and our lifestyle isn't always easy. I'm also fully aware that not everyone can afford to hire someone to help them after they give birth.

Our Postpartum and Infant Care Specialists are the village!

Our team of professional Postpartum and Infant Care Specialists help parents divide and conquer! While we are with families we take things off their plates making more time for the things they love. Also making the time they have with the people they love more enjoyable and meaningful because they are rested, nourished, and their own needs are being met! Working with families, we help them feel good! Validation, commiseration, a listening ear, some genuine compliments, and encouragement, along with some good belly laughs impact all of our emotional and mental well-being!

Feeding Assistance

As postpartum caregivers, we offer support with various feeding methods, including breastfeeding, formula feeding, pumping, or introducing solid foods. We can help moms understand the nuances of different feeding options and assist with the feeding process itself.

Newborn Care

Newborns require specialized care, and we are here to provide that care. This includes diaper changes, swaddling, soothing techniques, and ensuring the baby's overall well-being while you rest, enjoy coffee with your spouse, watch a movie, shower, get some work done, or a workout in. Whatever it is you want or need to do we are here to make your transition smoother, brighter, and way more enjoyable.

Mom's Postpartum Recovery

A significant part of our role involves supporting the postpartum recovery. This can encompass physical recovery, emotional well-being, and helping mothers adapt to the challenges of the postpartum period.

Meal Prep

We assist in preparing nourishing meals for parents to help them regain their strength and provide essential nutrition for both mom and baby. We assist in snack and meal prep for the entire family as well. This also includes taking into account dietary restrictions or preferences.

Helping with Older Siblings

If there are older siblings in the family, we can offer assistance in managing their needs, routines, and activities. This ensures that the older children feel cared for and not forgotten during the postpartum period.

Light Household Tasks

To ease the burden on new families, we can take care of some light household tasks, such as tidying up, laundry, or grocery shopping, allowing them to focus on recovery and bonding with their newborn. Likewise, we can place online orders, make lists, or receive and put away groceries and meals for them.

Client-Centric Approach

Our approach at The JBC is highly flexible and tailored to each client's unique needs. We understand that the requirements of new families can vary greatly, and we adapt to the situation, day-to-day, and client-to-client.

Varied Tasks

Some clients may prefer or need more emotional support than others, that's normal! We're here to provide companionship, engage in conversation, and create a supportive environment. For others, practical tasks like nursery organization, placing an online order, or assisting with errands are essential.

Limitations

It's important to note that Postpartum and Infant Care Specialists have specific limitations. These limitations include not offering transportation services and refraining from intensive cleaning tasks such as litter box maintenance, dusting, and baseboard wiping. While we handle newborn and sibling care, dishwashing, meal preparation, and nursery organization, our distinctive role as P&ICS does have some parallels with that of a nanny and housekeeper. Nevertheless, our primary focus remains on offering essential support, assistance, and comfort during the postpartum period.

Ultimately as postpartum and infant care specialists we want you to get the most out of the earliest months of parenting!

We want you to enjoy your baby, grow closer to your partner through the experience, and not suffer in any area! Not only do we want these things, but we can help your family accomplish all of this and more if bring us onto your home team!

The Jax Baby Company has been providing essential support to parents since 2013!

Our services are designed to alleviate some of the pressure that new parents face, ensuring their well-being and that of their newborns.
