A Night with Us By Your Side as A Formula-Feeding Parent

Every family's journey through the fourth trimester is unique, and no two experiences are exactly the same. Just as some parents sail through this period with few hiccups, others encounter unexpected challenges. At the end of the day, with us by your side, regardless of the path you choose or need to take you will have our full support.

As a parent who's committed to formula feeding, you've already made a thoughtful decision that aligns with your circumstances and your baby's needs. Every family's choice deserves respect, and we're here to provide the support and guidance you need on this unique parenting journey. If you are breastfeeding your baby, we wrote another blog, just for you!

A Night with Your Specialist By Your Side:

The night begins with your specialist arriving at your home, ensuring a seamless transition into their care. After a warm greeting to your family and a quiet shoe removal, your specialist washes their hands without needing a prompt.

A thoughtful conversation commences.

She addresses essential topics such as any hospital discharge instructions you'd like to share, your baby's feeding schedule, any challenges you've encountered, and an overview of the day. Your specialist inquires about your expectations for the night, taking into account your preferences and prior discussions. Their role is to provide suggestions that align with your goals, offer valuable insights based on their professional experience, are always attuned to your needs, and are there to support you!

With a fresh diaper, your baby is brought to you after you've enjoyed a relaxing shower and changed into comfortable attire.

Your specialist has prepared a bottle for you to feed your baby or she is happy to take over this feeding and any or all others through the night. While cozy in your bed you enjoy the final snuggle-fest of the evening and your specialist takes care of replenishing your water and familiarizing themselves with all the baby essentials, from diapers and wipes to baby clothes, burp cloths, etc.. Your specialist returns and assists with feeding or takes over feeding if you would like to just get right to sleep or waits patiently either with you or nearby for your call to come.

Throughout the night, your specialist becomes your baby's guardian angel.

They handle tasks like burping, diaper changes, and comforting your little one until it's time to lay them down safely in their crib or bassinet, following safe sleep practices. They also guide your baby into healthy sleep routines from the very beginning.

For formula-feeding parents, with us by your side, the routine differs in some ways from that of breastfeeding parents.

Generally speaking, you'll be able to get more sleep while we are there. Your specialist is prepared to handle all baby duties while you get much-needed sleep. This includes all baby-care duties and all aspects of formula feeding such as preparing, storing, and cleaning bottles. Not only is your specialist there to handle all the baby duties you request to be handled, but she is also there for you.

Your specialist is skilled in postnatal/postpartum care as well.

With us by your side through the night, she helps ensure that you get much-needed rest, she can bring your baby to you to snuggle and sniff, and while you get your baby loving in she will switch out your ice packs, remind you to stay on top of your medicines if prescribed any by your doctor, and give you words of encouragement! Your specialist also makes sure that you stay hydrated and have snacks at the ready since it's easy for new moms to forget to nourish themselves.

Parenthood, especially during the fourth trimester, is both a joyful and challenging experience.

It's not just about feeding your baby; it's a journey of learning and bonding. Your specialist is there to support your choices, offer encouragement, and ensure that you aren't missing anything and that you have the best possible experience.

As your baby grows and their needs change, so will your confidence in parenting.
