You've Planned for Baby.
Have You Planned for the Nights?
The first weeks with a newborn bring a lot of nighttime care. Planning ahead for experienced overnight support gives you space to sleep, recover, and settle into life with your baby without having to manage every overnight waking on your own.
Serving Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, St. Johns, and families throughout Northeast Florida since 2013.

The Nights Deserve a Plan, Too
Before baby arrives, there are countless things to plan: the nursery, feeding, childcare, parental leave, and all the details of bringing a newborn home. But one question is easy to overlook: what will nighttime care actually look like in your home, and when will you sleep?
For first-time parents, it can be hard to picture what those nights will actually require. If this is your second baby, you may remember them clearly and know you want to approach them differently this time.
A nighttime plan means thinking beyond where baby will sleep. Consider:
How much protected sleep will each of you need to function well the next day?
How will feeding fit into the night: breastfeeding, pumping, bottles, or a combination?
Who will handle diapering, burping, soothing, and settling baby back to sleep?
How will the nights change when one or both of you return to work?
If you have an older child, what kind of help would allow you to meet their needs in the morning while beginning the day more rested and supported?
There’s More Than One Way to Handle Newborn Nights
Some families take shifts. Some lean on grandparents or other relatives. Some handle the nights themselves. And some decide that experienced overnight support is the right fit. Your plan may include one of these options, or a combination that changes as your baby and your family settle in.
The goal is to create an intentional plan that considers your recovery, feeding preferences, sleep, work, older children, and the support you already have around you.
What does professional overnight support actually look like?
Professional overnight support gives your family an experienced set of hands during the hours when rest can be hardest to come by. Depending on your feeding plan, you may sleep through stretches of the night or wake only when needed to feed, while someone else handles the rest of your baby’s care.
With much of the overnight care handled for you and things reset for the day ahead, you can get more of the uninterrupted rest that's so difficult to find during the newborn weeks.

Not All Overnight Support Is the Same
Experience matters when you are trusting someone to care for your newborn overnight. So do good judgment, professionalism, and having someone in your home who respects your family's preferences and routines.
But there is another part of overnight support that is easy to overlook: what happens if your caregiver gets sick, has a family emergency, or simply cannot be there? When you're relying on one individual, an unexpected absence can mean being left without the support you planned on.
JBC was intentionally built differently. Our small team gives families the personal, consistent care they want, with guaranteed backup coverage when the unexpected happens. You are not simply hiring someone for the night. You have a team behind your care.

What Overnight Support With JBC Looks Like
While you rest, your newborn care specialist handles the rhythm of the night based on your baby's needs and your family's feeding plan. That may include bottle feeding or bringing baby to you to breastfeed, followed by burping, diapering, soothing, and settling baby back to sleep.
We also take care of the small newborn-related tasks that make mornings easier, such as washing bottles and pump parts, preparing feeding supplies, restocking essentials, baby laundry, and keeping baby's space organized.
You begin the day with more rest, fewer newborn-related tasks waiting for you, and more energy for the people and priorities that need you.
Plan for More Rest Before Baby Arrives
Overnight support can be planned during pregnancy, giving you the reassurance of knowing experienced care is already in place when your baby comes home.
Whether this is your first baby or you already know you want to approach the newborn nights differently this time, we'll help you determine what kind of overnight support makes sense for your family.
