Overnight Newborn Care in Jacksonville
The Jacksonville Baby Company provides professional overnight postpartum and newborn care for families throughout Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, and Northeast Florida. While you sleep, our experienced specialists care for your newborn, support feeding, and provide personalized guidance. This gives you the opportunity to rest, recover, and wake up feeling more confident and prepared for the day ahead.
What to Expect From Overnight Newborn Care

Your specialist typically arrives between 9 and 10 p.m. and begins by checking in about your day, your baby's needs, feeding, and any questions or concerns you'd like support with that night.
While you rest, your specialist cares for your newborn throughout the night, handling diaper changes, burping, soothing, settling, bottle feedings when appropriate, and the many little things that keep the night running smoothly. We can also wash bottles and pump parts, restock baby supplies, and complete light baby-related tasks while your baby sleeps.
If you're breastfeeding, we'll bring your baby to you for feedings and provide support as needed before settling your baby back to sleep. If you're pumping, bottle feeding, or combination feeding, we'll tailor the night around your feeding goals and preferences.
Every overnight is personalized to your family while following safe, evidence-informed newborn care practices and supporting healthy sleep habits from the very beginning.
A Night of Overnight Newborn Care With JBC
No two babies, families, or nights are exactly alike. Your specialist follows your baby's cues and your family's preferences rather than a rigid schedule. But if you're wondering what having overnight support in your home might actually look like, here are two examples.
If You're Breastfeeding
One example of what an overnight might look like
9–10 p.m. | Your Specialist Arrives
You'll check in about your day, your baby's feeding, and your goals for the night. Then it's time for you to get comfortable and head to bed while your specialist takes over newborn care.
If You're Bottlefeeding
One example of what an overnight might look like
9–10 p.m. | Your Specialist Arrives
You'll check in about your day, your baby's feeding, and your preferences for the night. While you get ready for bed or enjoy a little uninterrupted time to yourself or with your partner, your specialist settles in with your baby and prepares for the night ahead.
First Feeding | Nurse, Then Rest
When your baby shows signs of hunger, your specialist brings your baby to you for nursing and provides feeding support as needed. Once the feeding is complete, your specialist takes over burping, diapering, soothing, and settling so you can go right back to sleep.
Throughout the Night | We Handle Everything Between Feedings
Your specialist watches for your baby's cues and brings your baby to you when it's time to nurse. Between feedings, we handle the newborn care, soothing, washing bottles or pump parts as needed, milk storage, and other nighttime tasks. We protect as much uninterrupted sleep for you as possible.
Throughout the Night | You Sleep.
We Handle the Rest.
While you sleep, your specialist handles your baby's feedings, burping, diaper changes, soothing, and settling. Bottles are prepared and washed, feedings and diapers can be tracked, and baby-related nighttime tasks are taken care of while your newborn receives attentive, one-on-one care.
If you'd like to wake for a feeding or some middle-of-the-night snuggles, you absolutely can. If you'd rather make the most of your overnight support and sleep, you can do that too.
Morning | Ready for the Day Ahead
If Pumping or Supplementing Is Part of Your Plan (or Becomes Part of Your Needs/Wants)
Before leaving, your specialist makes sure your baby is safe and comfortable and the nighttime essentials are organized for the morning. This allows you to begin the day with more rest, energy, and confidence.
We'll incorporate pumped milk or supplemental feedings according to your family's feeding plan and preferences, while supporting your breastfeeding goals and helping make the overnight routine as seamless as possible. We also teach you ways to support your feeding goals should supplementing become part of your journey.
Morning | Rested, Supported &
Ready for the Day
Before leaving, your specialist makes sure your baby is safe, comfortable, and cared for, and leaves the nighttime essentials organized for the day ahead. You wake having had the opportunity for significantly more rest than if you'd managed every waking on your own.
What If We're Combination Feeding?
Many families use more than one feeding method during the early weeks, whether that's nursing and offering pumped milk, supplementing with formula, exclusively pumping, or adjusting their feeding plan as their baby's needs and their own goals evolve.
Your overnight support will be tailored accordingly.
Your specialist can bring your baby to you to nurse, handle bottle feedings while you sleep, support pumping and milk storage, and take care of everything in between. There's no predetermined feeding philosophy at JBC, we support your family's goals and help make your chosen feeding plan work as smoothly as possible overnight.
Will Overnight Care Affect Bonding With My Baby?
Not at all. Bonding happens through the countless moments you share with your baby each day! Feeding, skin-to-skin contact, eye contact, talking, singing, bathing, comforting, and simply holding your newborn close are some ways you'll bond with your baby.
Having overnight support doesn't replace those moments. It gives you the opportunity to rest and recover so you can be more present for them. While JBC is with your family, you're always welcome to feed, snuggle, or spend time with your baby whenever you'd like. How involved you want to be overnight is entirely up to you.
Our role isn't to step between you and your baby. It's to care for both of you while supporting the connection you're building together.
