What to expect having a Postpartum and Infant Care Specialist Support your family

A Postpartum and Infant Care Specialist (P&ICS), sometimes referred to as a postpartum doula, baby nurse, or night nanny, is a highly skilled professional with specific expertise in newborn care. Most parents are looking for exceptional overnight care for their newborns no matter which of these terms they use.

It's important to know that not all people in this industry possess the same professionalism, training, or qualifications that The Jacksonville Baby Company does.

What can I say, I agree with Helen Clark, "Someone's got to break the glass ceiling, and once it's broken, everybody else comes clamoring up behind."

Industry Pricing

If you're looking for in-home support, you're probably wondering, how much is this service going to cost?

Broadly speaking, the cost of hiring a postpartum and infant care specialist, a.k.a. "night nanny, can vary. Typically, you can expect to pay between $30-$60 per hour, and most work 8-12 hours overnight. In certain regions, someone just starting in their career may offer their services for less, while someone with more education and experience may command a higher pay rate. Additionally, when hiring someone, it's important to consider travel expenses, food costs, and a daily stipend when travel or live-in is required.

The parents we choose to work with have the option of purchasing a package that includes a variety of services or a la carte options as they need them. In addition to 8-12-hour overnights, we also provide live-in, around-the-clock support, travel and vacation support, and daytime support to meet their specific needs.

The choice ultimately hinges on your family's priorities, financial considerations, and the level of professionalism you're seeking!

"These ladies are a Godsend! I was drowning without them. My only regret is not hiring them sooner. I owe my sanity and my sleep to The Jax Baby Company."
